Terms of Use

Knuckleball LLC · Effective October 29, 2026 · Version 2026-10-29

These terms are the agreement between you and Knuckleball LLC (“we”) for using Knuckleball. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Who can use Knuckleball

  • Adults (18 or older); players 13 to 17 whose parent or guardian has approved their account; and players of any age added by a parent or guardian through a parent account.
  • Coaches and parents must be 18 or older.
  • Players under 13 can use Knuckleball only through a parent account; they can't sign up themselves.
  • If you add a player, you confirm that you're their parent or legal guardian, and you agree to these terms on their behalf. If you give someone a link to your player, you choose to share your player's data with them, and you can remove them at any time.
  • If you're 13 to 17 and your parent gave you a sign-in link, your parent has approved your account. They manage your profile and can remove your sign-in.
  • If a parent links you to their player, use what you see only to support that player, and don't share it.
  • You must give us accurate information, including your age bracket.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us at nate@knuckleballonline.com if you think someone else has used it.

Your pitching data

  • A player's pitching data belongs to the player. Coaches see it because the player is on their team, and a team's coaches keep the sessions charted while the player was on that team.
  • By saving charting data in Knuckleball, you give Knuckleball LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual right to use, analyze, combine, publish, license and sell that data and the statistics built from it, attributed to the player, as described in the Privacy Policy (“How we may use and license charting data”). This covers data saved on or after October 17, 2026; it never covers email addresses, passwords, age brackets, consent records, profile photos or coach notes; and for a player added by a parent it applies only if the parent separately agrees.
  • Saved sessions are final: pitch data can't be edited after a session is saved. A pitcher can delete their own sessions and a head coach can delete their team's; a deleted session leaves a marker in history showing the date, the number of pitches, and who deleted it.
  • You can download a copy of your data, or delete your account, in the app (Profile → Your data). A deleted account can be restored for 7 days; after that it is gone, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can also ask at nate@knuckleballonline.com.

Coach notes and report links

Coaches are responsible for what they write in notes. Notes appear on the session's report page, which anyone with the report link can view. Write notes you'd be comfortable with the player and their family reading.

Chat at training facilities

Chat is for coaching: lessons, schedules and drills. The facility manager can read every chat at the facility, so write as you would in front of the player's family. Don't post anything harassing, threatening or sexual, or anyone's personal information. Anyone in a chat can report a message to the facility manager. Each facility is responsible for how its staff use chat; we may remove messages, or suspend accounts, that break these rules.

Acceptable use

Don't:

  • scrape, copy in bulk, or try to get around the app's access controls;
  • share another player's data outside the team it was charted for;
  • use invite links, report emails, or guardian requests to send messages to people who didn't ask for them;
  • impersonate someone, or sign up for someone else without their permission (or, for a minor, their parent or guardian's).

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules or that put other users or the service at risk.

The service

Knuckleball is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change, add, or remove features. To the extent the law allows, Knuckleball LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the app.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its version and effective date, and tell account holders by email or in the app when the change matters to them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
